SOCIAL AND CHRISTIAN LIFE :
Sister Ess, as we were fund of calling her, was an exceptional leader with qualities of humility, pacifier, lover, bringing the family together, putting the word of God first, did not discriminate between her child and the numerous children who lived with her.
She was a devoted Christian of the Presbyterian Church Fiango-Kumba, where she was thrice voted and dedicated as a church Elder. She belonged to many religious groups in the church and social groups in her community. She made sure that all the children living with her attended the presbyterian church. Elder Esther Bokeng Esapa was a shock absorber, cool, had a golden heart and no matter the circumstance, she kept encouraging us, kept that smile and hope until her last moment.
From a family of mostly devoted P.C.C christians, she was baptized in December 1968, remained a model and loyal to her family and the Presbyterian Church Fiango-Kumba until her death on August 26th 2024.
She was the inspiration behind "Datchristianwoman"—her life a testament to unwavering faith, resilience, and grace in the face of everyday challenges. As her daughter, I saw firsthand how she touched the lives of so many women, becoming a beacon of hope and strength. To the men in her community, she was the epitome of a wife worth admiring and emulating.
Her journey was far from easy. She faced numerous trials, but it was the way she navigated those obstacles—with love, kindness, and quiet strength—that turned her story into one worth telling. It’s a story that resonates with every young Christian woman dreaming of a God-centered marriage, and with every wife striving to honour her home.
But beyond her challenges, what truly defined her was her soft-spoken kindness, her unwavering love, her steadfast faith, and her deep humanitarian spirit. She left a legacy not just of resilience but of compassion, inspiring everyone who had the privilege to know her. Her life serves as a powerful reminder that even in pain, there is purpose, and even in hardship, there is beauty...( which I shall continue with the ' Esapa Esther foundation')

They say good people don’t last long, but I believe angels are only here for a short time to fulfill their divine purpose in this chaotic world.
Words fall short in capturing the depth of the impact you had on every soul blessed to know you. Your presence was a light, a guide, and a comfort. We will miss you deeply, Mommy—our beloved Nyango Elder!
" you can take every thing from me, you can ban me from every activity but you see my God & church, you will have to k!ll me"
These were her words as she cried one evening to the man she called her husband, my late dad as he physically abused her that day from church to the house.
They re still fresh in my brain like it was yesterday. And indeed, she stayed faithful & fearless till her last breath.
A dedicated christian and servant of God.
A preacher of peace, love & kindness even towards her oppressors.
She devoted her entire life to serving the Lord through the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon.
